Child and Adolescent Counseling
JFCS provides children and adolescents, ages 2 through 18, with support and coping skills to achieve emotional health and improved functioning through individual and family counseling. Play therapy with toys provides opportunities for younger children, who often are unable to communicate verbally, to express their feelings. Outreach programming is also provided for parents, teachers, and children at area schools, synagogue schools, and other groups. Programs are offered on a variety of topics, including depression, suicide, behavior problems, bullying, eating and sleep disorders, and more.
"Our son is doing so much better in school since he has received counseling services from you. He used to be depressed and didn't want to participate in any family activities. Now he's the first one to ask to play a game! Thank goodness for your help."
- Marcy, parent of a Counseling client
The Child and Adolescent Program is funded in part by a grant from the Raymond & Gertrude R. Saltzman Foundation.
